How did you get started making beats?

I really just used to be on the computer wandering around on the internet and found Frooty Loops one day and got to it. Kept learning new things and turned it into something.

What made you decide that music is what you want to do?

It was just fun to me. It came naturally. It's a passion of mine.

When did you make your first beat?

I was probably in like 7th or 8th grade.

Who inspired you to get to this point?

I always liked Pharrell as a producer, Kanye as a producer. You hear a song come out and it's always interesting to know who's behind the scenes and who's helping put those songs together. That was something that always interested me.

How has living in Atlanta helped impact your music?

It's helped impact my music a lot. Everything going on in music right now, a lot of it is coming from Atlanta. There's a lot of new artists, new creators popping up, so it's always good to be around new talent and new sounds all the time.

Has living in Atlanta given you that push to get to the next level in your craft?

Yeah man, I got my first album placement down here, met my first people from labels and started seeing friends of mine grow into bigger artists on bigger levels, all here in Atlanta.

What do you think about the current state of hip-hop?

I love it. You got all these crazy new kids coming out; some people call it mumble rap or whatever, but I feel like we're in a time now where it's almost like a renaissance. People are doing whatever they want to do and if it works, it works! On the other side, you got the same artists going platinum: Kendrick, Jay Z, J. Cole, those same artists. There's room for everybody, so I love it.

For people that want to be in your shoes and become a professional producer, what advice do you have for them?

Stay working. Always keep creating. Build good relationships with people and keep that positive energy, keep that positive outlook and keep that tunnel vision for what you want to do and make it happen.
