Texas Rangers Home Opener
This week I decided I’m going to give baseball a chance. I didn’t play or watch baseball growing up so it's not a sport I keep track of, but by living in Dallas, going to Rangers games is almost religion.
The Rangers were playing the Astros on opening day. For those that don't know, the Astros won the World Series last year so of course there was a lot of bandwagoning that came with this game. I sound like a hater I know but every year you find new fans for the championship team.
I must say the stadium is beautiful. I have seen a lot of stadiums and this is one of my favorites. The food, not so much a fan of. I chose the beefy macaroni, which sounded good at the time, but Lord knows I won’t get it again. To wash it down, I treated myself to a nice, smooth Stella.
The best part about the game was the a home run that was hit into my section. You know when you watch sports movies and time slows down? Well, that shit didn’t happen to me. That ball was coming, and coming FAST! I didn’t know what to do! Thank God it went over my head or I would have lost all my teeth.
At the end of the day, even with the Rangers losing 4-1, I really enjoyed myself. I got to experience first hand what all the hype is about for the Rangers. The Dallas faithful really take their sports seriously. Ultimately, it was a blast to sit back and watch from the bleachers. The little things that we take for granted when you are playing sports, comes back to full circle when you are in the stands. I miss the good ole days of playing!
